BLOCKCHAIN MAMA

Hello, I’m Blessing Emah—a passionate advocate for blockchain adoption in Africa. My work spans across Product, Education, and Community Building, all driven by a commitment to making a lasting impact in the blockchain ecosystem. As a multipotentialite, i have gained  diverse range of skills and have worn many hats such as Community Manager/Developer Advocate, Blockchain Engineer and Product Manager.

COMMUNITY MANAGER / DEVELOPER ADVOCATE

During the early days of blockchain adoption in Nigeria, I was a curious student eager to explore this groundbreaking innovation. My Web3 journey began in 2017, driven by a deep desire to understand blockchain technology. I attended conferences, volunteered at events, and even co-organized the first EOS meetup at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

Many conferences came and went, but there was no structured way to sustain engagement among students. Recognizing this gap, my colleagues and I founded BlockchainOAU—a thriving community for blockchain enthusiasts.

Over the course of four years, we:
✅ Introduced over 30,000 students from various universities to Web3
✅ Established a network of 10+ blockchain clubs across Nigerian universities

Through these experiences, I developed key community management skills, including:

  • Organizing online and offline events
  • Public speaking & audience engagement
  • People & volunteer management
  • Leadership through influence, not authority
  • Designing structured programs for sustained impact

At the time, I didn’t realize that what I was doing aligned with the role of a Developer Advocate—I was simply excelling at what I loved. However, once I discovered that Developer Relations (DevRel) was a career path, I sought formal training to refine my skills.

DevRel Training & Specialization

To sharpen my expertise, I enrolled in the Dx Mentorship program under the guidance of Kennedy Ezek, where I gained structured knowledge in Developer Relations.

Exploring Layer 2 & Starknet

During this period, Layer 2 (L2) scaling solutions became a hot topic, and I was eager to dive deeper. The best way to learn is by doing, so I immersed myself in the Starknet community.

What is Starknet?
Starknet is a permissionless L2 scaling solution designed to enhance Ethereum’s scalability. It is powered by Cairo, its native programming language.

As part of my journey, I joined forces with African blockchain builders to establish the Starknet Africa Community, which became a pivotal chapter in my career.

Key Contributions to Starknet Africa

🌍 Led marketing campaigns to increase Starknet adoption across Africa
📚 Organized & taught Cairo workshops for developers
🎤 Spoke at blockchain conferences across Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya
📅 Hosted online & offline events to grow the ecosystem

Recognition & Endorsements

My contributions to Web3 and blockchain advocacy earned me an endorsement from Ebunayo, marking a significant milestone in my journey.

BLOCKCHAIN ENGINEER

Starting as a community manager and developer advocate, I was eager to deepen my understanding of blockchain technology beyond the surface. This curiosity led me to Web3Bridge, a rigorous four-month blockchain development program.

The experience was transformative—I pushed my limits, gained technical proficiency, and immersed myself in the developer ecosystem. Throughout the program, I attended industry events, connected with like-minded builders, and participated in hackathons, all while honing my blockchain development skills.

STAKEFAIR

Upon completing Web3Bridge, I joined Stakefair as a Blockchain Engineer Intern to apply my skills in a real-world setting. Stakefair, a blockchain-based gaming company, provided an incredible environment to refine my expertise and work on impactful projects.

But the journey didn’t stop there. Some key highlights from my path as a builder include:

Africa Bitcoin Conference (ABC) – Ghana

I was among a select group of African female developers flown to Ghana for the first-ever Africa Bitcoin Conference. This was a pivotal moment—I had the opportunity to dive deep into the Bitcoin ecosystem, network with global pioneers, and even meet Jack Dorsey in person.

Techpoint Africa Blockchain Summit (TABS) Web3 Hackathon

At TABS, my team and I built a blockchain-powered library designed to help authors earn fair compensation for their work while allowing readers to earn rewards for engaging with content.

Chainbase Hackathon

Assembling and leading a team, we competed in the Chainbase Hackathon, where we developed an innovative blockchain solution. The experience was documented in detail on Hashnode.

Blockchain Product Manager

This journey has helped me realize that I am a builder at heart, passionate about creating products. This passion led me to product management—the art and skill of building impactful solutions.

To deepen my expertise, I enrolled in Product Dive, one of Africa’s leading product schools, where I built a strong foundation in design thinking, product metrics, and analytics.

Given my background in blockchain, I’ve chosen to specialize in building blockchain products. Becoming a Blockchain PM requires technical proficiency, so to bridge any knowledge gaps, I upskilled through a Technical Product Management program, complementing my existing expertise in blockchain development.

My goal is to become a Global Product Manager, which led me to pursue the globally recognized Product Management (PM) certification from AIPMM.

Currently, I am focused on building Goshen—an e-learning platform dedicated to onboarding non-technical talents into the Web3 space through content, communities, and opportunities.

Here are my Certifications:

  1. Product Manager’s Blueprint Program
  2. Technical Product Management Program
  3. AIPMM Certificate

If you would like to work with me in any of this capacity, do check out my Services page.

Looking forward to working with you.
